You might find helpful information at the www.jobschina.org website document download/purchase page (Again, although it says "Official Website" at the top, it also sells weight-loss drugs! Therefore, I don't know how official or accurate this site is.)

Work Abroad (e.g., Chinese people working in America)

A growing number of American schools (kindergarten to college) want Mandarin Teachers from China. This link (in Chinese, but you can translate it through Google Translate) is for one program that helps qualified Chinese teachers take advantage of this opportunity (a former colleague really enjoyed this experience): http://www.ynjy.cn /Article/200902/Article_20090205095505_16077.shtml

There are also summer or one-year jobs for "internationals" at amusement parks like Cedar Point (I worked there for two summers while I was in college) and Disneyland (my daughter worked there while she was in college). The following are special pages for non-Americans who want to work for Disney:

English Corner: Tip of the Month

This month we will look at two practical ways to improve your English. First, pick a video (i.e., movie) with a lot of action and call a friend who also wants to improve listening and speaking skills. Have one person face the TV and the other face away. Show a portion of the video but turn off the volume. The person facing the TV describes the scene to the person facing away. Then the person facing away describes what he heard. Finally, watch the video together with the sound to see how accurate you were. Secondly, build-up your vocabulary schema by making labels for the various objects, appliances, furniture, etc., around your home or apartment. Every time you walk around your home you will see the label or name and it will help to reinforce the vocabulary. It is also helpful to be able to associate the real object with the name in your memory. Visit again next month!.     (August Corner)
